Grounds Maintenance Operative

**Permanent, Full time, 39.15 hours per week**

The grounds team carry out annual maintenance to communal spaces consisting of soft and hard landscaping, trees, and shrubs, of areas on behalf of Two Rivers Housing throughout the year.

**The year is considered as two seasons**:

- The summer season starting on the first of April for 31 weeks
- The winter season for the subsequent 21 weeks

During the winter season, staff may be required to carry out labouring, cleaning, and other semi-skilled activities (training will be provided).

The role requires staff to work a different pattern of hours in each season as follows:
**The hours of work will be on an annualised pattern stated below**:

- Summer - 44 total hours over 5 days, for 31 weeks
- Winter - 32 total hours over 4 days, for 21 weeks

Pay is regularised throughout the year so that each month’s salary is the same throughout the year.

Working as one of our Grounds Maintenance Operatives, you will provide an effective grounds maintenance service to our clients. In this key role your responsibilities will include:

- Grass cutting
- Weeding
- Lawn/landscape and hardstanding's maintenance

**About you**

We are looking for a reliable individual with a ‘can do’ attitude, that can work alone without supervision and within a team environment.
- Has strong knowledge of Health and safety.
- Essential that you have got knowledge of using power tools.
- Previous experience in a ground's maintenance role but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Some evening and weekend work may be required on occasion.
- A clean driving licence is essential.
