An oppourtunity has arisen for a LAS ST3+/SCF to join our General medicine team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, based within Respiratory Medicine. This is a fixed term role until August 2023.

The post-holders will be expected to support the continuing care of medical in-patients on the respiratory inpatient wards and participate on the medical registrar on call rota with appropriate banding. A Clinical Supervisor will be provided and attendance at the Respiratory Medicine Departmental teaching is expected.

The post-holder will be expected to participate in the Division of Medicine Grand Rounds and audit meetings and will be welcome to participate in any available further training and study opportunities.
- Attending ward rounds
- Attending MDT meetings
- Attend a variety of general and subspecialty respiratory clinics
- Supervision of junior doctors
- Undertaking routine clinical procedures on wards and pleural procedures on RAU
- Seeing ward referrals
- Opportunity to gain experience in bronchoscopy/EBUS/medical thoracoscopy/chest ultrasound
- Follow up management of acute inpatients
- Prescribing
- Discharge summaries
- Contributing to quality improvement across the pathway
- Working as equivalent to junior registrar level on call.
