**Kennel Assistant**
**Minimum 20 hours per week (increasing to 30 hours from May)**
**Lower Kinnerton, Chester**

We are recruiting a Kennel Assistant to work at an established, family run Kennels and Cattery based in Chester.
This role would suit an energetic person who has a passion for working with and caring for animals.
The role will involve working within a busy team: walking, grooming, feeding and providing a high level of care for our animals.

Main duties
- Feeding and exercising dogs of all breeds and sizes
- Cleaning Kennels and Cattery
- Day to day grooming of dogs and cats
- Administering medication to both dogs and cats as required
- Customer service - proiding a high level of service to our customers both over the phone and face to face
- General maintenance and groundwork

**Requirements**:

- Must have a genuine passion for dogs and cats
- Previous experience in animal care is essential, ideally within a Kennel and/or cattery
- Being familiar with handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments
- Physically capable
- Team player - able to work effectively in a small team and under own initiative
- Strong work ethic - reliable and punctual
- Willingness to roll sleeves up and get hands dirty
- Must be flexible - days and hours may vary depending on shift patterns and staff availability

Hours of work: from 7am including weekends.
February - April: 20 hours mimumum per week. May-September: 30 hours per week.

**Salary**: £10.00-£11.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
