This is a training position post holder will undertake training at Kings College London alongside working in one of our West London services.

Alongside working towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Child and Young Person’s Psychological Wellbeing Practice at Kings College London (KCL), you will work in clinic under the supervision of a CWP Supervisor and there will be close links with the specialist Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) CAMHS teams as well as working within community settings and within schools.

We are seeking to recruit 12 graduate level practitioners to provide guided self-help therapy and parenting interventions. These posts are salaried at NHS Agenda for Change band 4 and fully funded for a one year post graduate diploma in Child Wellbeing Practice through Kings College London.

During training, the post-holders will work under close supervision to gain experience across healthcare and community settings to enable them to gain the level of competence required to deliver high-quality, evidence-based early interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems.

This is a training role within the Children and Young People' Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT). The post-holder will work within a CYP, mental health service delivering, under supervision, high-quality; brief outcome focused evidence-based interventions and guided self-help for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

The training and service experience will equip the post holder with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value driven service. The post holder will attend all university based taught and Onsite Protected Learning Time required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.

We are recruiting across 4 teams within 3 boroughs. Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow Community CAMHS teams together with the Ealing and Hounslow Mental Health Support teams are strongly aligned with the core values of the Trust; togetherness, responsibility, excellence, and caring. The team is committed to providing services that are accessible to everyone, and it prides itself on its creative and innovative ways of delivering high quality evidence based care for children, young people and families referred to the service.

West London CAMHS is committed to supporting the development and progression of its staff. In addition to receiving regular supervision, all staff have access to training and development opportunities in line with their agreed development needs.

Our staff are currently providing a combination of face to face clinical contact as well as clinical contact via virtual platforms, resulting in a combination of onsite and remote working.

We are looking to appoint enthusiastic and highly motivated trainees with demonstrable experience working in child and adolescent in-patient and/or community settings and/ or experience working within schools and who have an interest in developing their skills in working with young people, their families/carers and the network around them.

The trainee CWP will need to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of children’s mental health and show an ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team.
