**Details**

Personal Assistant / Companion (P/T) (Male) - required to provide companionship /occasional personal care and social support to a 36 year old man who lives with Cerebral Palsy.

You will provide companionship and social support. Some personal care including assistance with clothing / accessing the bathroom will be required.

The employer uses a power drive wheelchair to mobilise and has a wheelchair accessible mobility car which you will be required to drive.

He enjoys going to football matches, going to shows and the Cinema and takes part in Wheelchair Football. This post would be suitable for someone with similar interests.

Applicants must have a sense of humour and enjoy a good chat and a bit of ‘banter’.

As you will be required to drive his mobility car, applicants must be a driver aged 25 or over (for insurance purposes) with a full clean driver’s licence.

May be using a manual or tracking hoist, therefore must have a moving and handling certificate and previous experience or willing to undertake training.

**Experience / Qualifications Required**

Experience of providing social support and personal care required. Moving and Assisting training would be beneficial however this can be provided by the employer.

Successful applicants will have to provide 2 references (one of which must be your current or most recent employer) and undergo a New or update of the PVG Disclosure at the employers cost.
