Pertemps are currently working for a growing organisation who are leader within their industry based in Glasgow who are looking to expand their finance team and currently have a requirement for an Payroll & Accounts Assistant. This role is working Monday
- Friday 9am
- 5pm offering hybrid working and a salary of £28k - £30k DOE.
You will be a highly motivated, IT literate, experienced end-to-end payroll professional who will partner closely with all parts of the wider business as we seek to make improvements in our payroll and cash accounts system.
The Payroll/Accounts Assistant will work as part of the Finance Team. You will liaise closely with HR as well as your finance colleagues and the wider business to ensure that salaries are accurately paid to our 170 staff.
Your focus will be on the efficient and accurate payment of salaries and other associated returns as well as the appropriate payment of expenses. You will consider and look at ways in which we can continuously improve.
Payroll
- Payroll master file maintenance - starters/leavers/changes
- Checking timesheets to see how many hours employees worked
- Resolving issues employees have with timesheets
- Calculating correct employee pay by considering hours worked, overtime rates, taxes, national insurance payments and other factors
- Entering payroll data accurately and within the strict timeline set for each Payroll processed
- Sales commissions
- PAYE/NI/Pension returns, payments and reconciliation’s
- Deal with payroll queries from employees and third parties
- Distributing forms such as P45, P60 and P11d
- Processing PAYE deductions and sending payroll information to HM Revenue and Customs
- Other payroll related tasks

Accounts
- Operate and control cashbook
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Online banking
- Update cashflow forecast
- Manage online expenses system and payments
- Credit card control
- Petty cash
- Other

**QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE**:

- Experience of managing a payroll
- Accounts knowledge (day-to-day tasks)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Advance excel/systems skills
- Knowledge of different types of payroll software
- Knowledge of payroll rules and benefits distribution
- Multitasking ability
- Self-motivation and organisational skills to meet deadlines
