**Yard Supervisor**

Our client is a major supplier of construction equipment and the position will take place at their UK head office in Leigh

**Your Responsibilities will include**:

- Maintaining an organized and logical yard operation.
- Planning daily/weekly manpower needs based upon business demands and closely monitors overtime hours.
- Assigning tasks ensuring efficient allocation of labor maximizing productivity.
- Identifying and monitoring employees’ development needs and ensure that they are coached, trained and developed into a productive cohesive team.
- Ensuring that employees consistently use provided safety equipment.
- Conducting regular safety meetings and consistently executing all safety policies.
- Conducting regular safety/yard inspections, documents findings/observations and distributes to the appropriate management personnel.
- Managing the logistics of all material (location, flow of goods) to ensure proper storage avoiding congestion.

**Required Skills include**:

- Experience working in a construction yard
- Forklift Licence required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be computer literate
- Team supervisory experience in a production-oriented environment where strict H&S processes must be enforced and adhered to (including hiring, training and management)

The role will call for a proactive individual who can develop a team and introduce new working practices while displaying an ability to take initiative. You will have the ability to think strategically and analytically. Able to envision the broader picture and understand the impact of your accountabilities as they relate to the entire company.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £12.00-£14.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

- LEIGH: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
