We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Global Head of Business Continuity Management and Major Incident Management.
The Global Head of Business Continuity Management (BCM) & Major Incident Management (MIM) ensures Global Business and Functions complete Business Continuity Management Lifecycle (BCM) activities, maintain readiness of the Global, Regional, Market and Local Site Major Incident Groups (MIGs) and facilitate the operation of these in responses to a live incident.
In this role, you will:
- Define, publish and communicate the Business Continuity Management (BCM) & Major Incident Management (MIM) procedures.
- Direct Business Continuity Management (BCM) & Major Incident Management (MIM) change, system strategy and associated programmes of activity. Including procedural adherence and guidance for Business Impact Analysis, Business Continuity plan & exercises.
- Responsible for the Major Incident Management governance, 2/3 Line of Defence engagement.
- Delivers the Global Major Incident Group cycle of control activities.
- Overseeing the Major Incident Management global procedures, operating instructions, compliance reporting and Management Information (MI).
- Define the Business Continuity Management (BCM) approach for External Third Parties.
- Management of the Business Continuity Management (BCM) technology platforms, liaising with IT Development teams on strategy/planning/product backlog for future software releases.
- Management of MI platforms, develop and embed user guides with regional leads, provide regular user training and advisory support.
- Monitor, support and communicate on all live major incidents. Provide management briefings and coordination for multi-regional major incidents.
- Participate in all 1st and 2nd Line of Defence reviews of MIM and all 3rd Line of Defence audits. Consult and complete work for other response audits in the broader incident management space.
- Oversee MIG incident reporting and MIG post implementation review tracking and analysis.
- Stakeholder management, engagement with bank wide stakeholders and external partners.
- Line Management Responsibility - responsible for managing and motivating a team of direct FTEs and indirect reports.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Experience in key stakeholder management and partnership relationships across multiple functions globally.
- Working knowledge of Incident Management Lifecycle and previous experience desired.
- Broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within multiple disciplines or a fast changing discipline.
- Experience in working in an Agile environment
- Working collaboratively across the Corporate Services function, supporting initiatives.
- Working knowledge of HSBC and ability to navigate different Global Businesses/Functions
- Key stakeholder management and partnership relationships across multiple functions
- Works collaboratively across DCOO and Corporate services functions.
- Provide strategic operational leadership for colleagues within Corporate services and more widely as required
- Promote a positive work culture based on respect for people, integrity of actions, creativity and collaboration leading to increased productivity
- Experience in driving change and working/delivering at pace
- Experience in technology and innovation is preferred
