**We’re searching for a passionate data journalist with experience in the collection, analysis and visualisation of data to join our rapidly growing digital PR team and help to create data-driven stories for the press.**:
Location: Kendal / Manchester / Remote

Digitaloft is on the lookout for a self-motivated, analytically-minded Data Journalist, passionate about storytelling and data, to join our team during an exhilarating phase of growth.

We offer a stimulating opportunity to play a pivotal role in expanding our digital PR division by transforming data into captivating insights and narratives that resonate with our clients, the press and their audiences.

As a Data Journalist, you will have the unique opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of clients across diverse B2C and B2B sectors, such as travel, finance, entertainment, and lifestyle.

You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including PR, SEO, and content strategy, to devise and implement data-driven stories that get covered in the press and get people talking.

**We’re looking for someone who**:

- Has 1 -2 years of experience in a data-centric role, with a preferable focus on data collection, analysis or visualisation, either in-house or at an agency.
- Is adept at sourcing, analysing, and manipulating datasets to craft compelling data-driven narratives.
- Has a proven track record of producing engaging insights and data visualisations.
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate complex data insights in a clear and engaging manner.
- Has a passion for continuous learning and improvement, eager to develop new techniques and data visualisation methods, as well as working to help other team members understand the possibilities of these.
- Is eager to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, with a variety of exciting projects on offer. No two days are the same.

**The key responsibilities and tasks involved with the role are**:

- Conducting data-led research to create compelling insights for PR stories.
- Identifying and analysing datasets to create compelling data-driven stories and visualisations.
- Collaborating closely with the PR team (including our copywriters) to develop and implement creative, data-driven stories, and working with design teams to produce innovative visuals and interactives that tell stories in an effective way.
- Providing informed recommendations by understanding campaign objectives in liaison with PR and content teams.
- Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data usage as a custodian of our data output.
- Building positive relationships with both colleagues and clients, often virtually.

**You will preferably have**:

- Experience with programmatic data analysis or data visualisation software, such as Python, R, PowerBI.
- Familiarity with using API technology.
- Experience with a multitude of different data collection methods and solutions.
- Experience managing data in a PR, social media, or SEO context.
- Demonstrated experience in creating compelling data-driven narratives.
- Excellent project management skills, with a proven ability to deliver projects on time, on budget and to a high standard.
- Previous experience in cross-functional team collaboration.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
- Proven ability to receive and implement feedback, with a focus on continuous improvement and personal development.
