- has the ability to form strong, positive relationships with children, staff and parents;
- has high expectations, in terms of behaviour and standards - of themselves and the children in their care;
- Knowledge of strategies to manage and support pupils with challenging behaviour.
- Experience of supporting children with emotional, behavioural and self-esteem needs
- Trauma and attachment and ACEs awareness
- Knowledge of Social stories, Emotional literacy, Therapeutic Stories, 5 Point Scale, Sensory Circuits
- Restorative Practice
- The ability to work closely with external agencies;
- Knowledge of strategies to help pupils with difficulties such as anger management, low self-esteem and lack of motivation.
- The ability to alongside teachers, Heads of Year and support staff to promote the effective use of behaviour management strategies.
- The ability to alongside parents in helping them to support the work of the school in improving individual children's behaviour
