At CTM we understand the importance of staff maintaining a healthy work life balance, so this role will offer a mix of home and office working.
This is a varied role and you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience across a range of workforce activities including:
- Supporting People Services in the delivery of a comprehensive range of professional proactive and reactive people activities and services across the Health Board using generalist people knowledge, skills and experience, to coach and support managers and staff, across a diverse range of employment relation matters.
- As a People Services Coach you will undertake work and projects aligned to other teams in the People Directorate including Learning and Development, OD and Workforce Planning. This will require you to work collaboratively with team members in the other People specialist teams. You will also develop service improvement skills to streamline and ensure a positive experience for stakeholders.
- You will develop coaching skills help to drive the Health Board’s service improvement agenda and coaching culture by developing managerial and team capability and performance by coaching and supporting them to make appropriate and timely decisions, compliant with policy, legislation etc.
- You will utilise and analyse routine people data and information e.g. sickness absence, statutory and mandatory training, turnover etc. to identify areas of non and low compliance, to raise awareness and challenge, by supporting the manager to implement proactive interventions and services, to drive improvement and performance.
We provide healthcare services to people living in Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf county borough areas, serving a population of around 450,000. We are ideally situated between Wales’s capital city, Porthcawl to the west, and the stunning scenery in the Brecon Beacons National Park to the North - all within a short commute. We operate within a vibrant community, rich with history and heritage, and our Health Board is at the heart of this community.

The role requires the post holder to undertake a two-year training programme upon commencement of this Apprenticeship, to attain the NVQ Level 5 CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management and qualify to become an Associate Member of CIPD.
Completion of the qualification is a requirement of the contract of employment.
This apprenticeship opportunity will require education to a degree level or equivalent skills and knowledge, with the ability to produce academic assignments.
In addition to meeting the requirements of the role, the postholder will need to fulfil the entry requirements of the apprenticeship programme.
