**Parcel/Post Assistant**

Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Security, the Parcel / Post Assistant will play a key role in assisting with the incoming pupil parcels, sorting and delivery alongside the site wide collection and management of school post through the Royal Mail postal system. He/she will be required to work efficiently and smoothly to deliver an excellent service to the pupils and the wider school community.

To fulfil the tasks, the post holder will be required to:

- Organise and sort pupil parcels as they arrive.
- Deliver parcels to each house on a daily basis (Monday to Friday)
- Deal with parcels with unknown houses, addresses
- Monitor parcel deliveries for items deemed as contraband
- Provide advice to staff & pupils regarding parcels
- Update the Daily Parcel Statistics spreadsheet
- Deal with Parcel Delivery companies
- Collect post from designated points across site.
- Sort post collection between internal and external mail, placing internal into staff pigeon holes.
- Sort outgoing post, logging details and appropriately labelling with the correct postage, placing for collection by Royal Mail at 5pm

In addition, the postholder will be required to:

- Keep work areas and vehicle clean and tidy.
- Build and maintain relationships within the organisation, providing excellent customer service
- Abide by and participate in Charterhouse’s Health and Safety policy.
- Undertake suitable training to enable the safe and effective use of equipment supplied to be able to undertake the proper performance required.

Working Hours

This is a term time only position, including inset days. Working hours for this role are Monday to Friday

09:30 - 15:00. A willingness to be flexible would be required
