**Salary**:According to the National Police Pay Scales plus £6,711 in London Allowance and London Weighting, a generous pension scheme, a free Oyster card for London (TFL) travel and subsidized national rail travel, which allows you to travel within a 70-mile radius.

This post currently attracts a £3,000 per annum firearms payment.

**Description of Department**:
The City of London Police are looking for 1-2 experienced ARV Sgts to join the Tactical Firearms Team. The ARVs provide the 24-hour firearms response to both spontaneous and planned operations in the City as well as supporting the Force in a number of other areas and across the Metropolitan policing area.

The TFG form part of the critical protection plan for national infrastructure within the City of London, including various tier 1 sites and crowded spaces.

Sgts within the TFG will undertake additional skills of Operational Firearms Commander (OFC) and Tactical Advisor (TA), with additional opportunities of National Protection Officer (NPO) and National Firearms Instructor (NFI).

**Statement of expectation for the role**:
As an existing Sergeant within a firearms department, we will expect you to have the full range of skills and experience to manage and drive performance on our unit. Those transferring from outside London will find that London presents a busy and unique opportunity to provide the highest level of service to the public.

Your main role will be to manage a firearms team and the range of services we provide from 24/7 ARV coverage, NPO duties, High Value Escort and close working with our colleagues in the Metropolitan Police Service.

**You will be able to hit all current National ARV fitness and medical requirements and may require a conversion to London procedures if necessary.**

**Eligibility Criteria**:

- **Current accreditation to national standards for the ARVO role profile with a proven level of competence in training and operational deployment. Including CBRN qualification.**
- **Medically fit for role profile.**
- **Currently serving in a recognised Home Office Force or British Transport Police and having completed required probationary period within a Home Office Force.**
- **Attain the minimum national fitness levels - JRFT 9.4**
- **Serving as a current qualified substantive Sgt having completed WBA / One File process.**

**Desirable Criteria**:
