Who you are

As the Country Product Specialist / Junior Product Owner within the Digital Local Product team, you will play a central role in creating, managing, delivering and communicating the local product backlog, as well as the management and maintenance of the existing local product landscape.

The local product backlog exists to ensure the markets have an opportunity to drive improvements, innovation and close gaps that may not yet be addressed through the globally led products.

You will work proactively across the breadth of the UK & IE organization, working closely with the Digital Delivery (Portfolio & Deployment) team as well as the global digital organisation, to ensure the backlog delivers against the UK & IE business strategy.

You will lead research discussions with stakeholder groups, perform analysis and reflection to understand the need and translate these into product ideas.

Lead the process of gathering product ideas / test (backlog items), refining, prioritizing, sprint planning through to delivery and follow up. Much of your product delivery will focus upon innovation, proof of concepts or minimum viable products and through this you will ensure the correct processes and feedback loops are in place with the global digital teams to facilitate a smooth transition to a Global backlog.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Experience of Agile working practice and working as part of an agile team, delivering incremental value, MVPs and product iterations.
- Strong stakeholder management skill and influencing skills
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Comfortable utilising Jira and Confluence to build and manage your backlog and artefacts.
- Strong willingness to challenge and question in your day to day.
- Motivated to keep learning and to forget the obsolete

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Comfortable leading user interviews, or research sessions to gain insight and understanding.
- Minimum of 2-4 years in delivering change to products/processes and supporting digital transformation.
- A good understanding of preparing data led business cases, or value propositions to support product delivery.

What you'll be doing day to day
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the local product portfolio, with the ambition of rationalizing and simplifying the local product landscape through the adoption of global development
- Build robust relationships with your global counterparts, represent the UK IE in product forums, seek opportunities to influence the global roadmap on behalf of the UK IE market.
- Establish the local product development processes and lead these across the UK & IE business.
- Working closely with Digital team, assess the most appropriate way to meet a business functions requirements, developing locally, sourcing third parties or working with the Global teams.
- Proactively work with UK IE business stakeholders to understand and translate their needs into product ideas. Communicate those product ideas to the Global product teams, with a focus upon value through iterative delivery
- Encourage an experimental and product led mindset amongst your team and across your wider stakeholder group.
- Provide support and guidance to your team, following standard IKEA process, whilst encouraging good product management and product development practice.

What you need to know

This position is full-time, you will work 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The Service Office principal location is Hybrid working a minimum of 8 days per calendar month in the office and the remainder flexibly working remotely at home.
