Play Services deliver sessions to young people aged 5-14 years through a variety of programmes. You will assist in running Open Access Play Scheme with the Short Breaks programme, in locations across Calderdale. Included is additional support for young people with SEND.

There are multiple strands to role of Play Worker including Key working children with multiple and complex needs who are often difficult to engage, have challenges with education and require one to one support.

The role requires flexibility, patience and commitment to Improving outcomes for our children.

The Job of the Play Worker is to support the Lead staff to facilitate and develop the programme. Interacting with young people in a safe and structured environment. Planning and reporting on sessions.

You will plan and organise activities, materials and equipment. Deal with Injuries and emergencies and Liaise with Parents, carers and other professionals.

They will encourage fair and caring behaviour. Building children’s confidence and self-esteem. Good communication skills and a level of confidence and leadership are required.
