An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Independent Prescriber within our Older Adult Community Mental Health Service located in South West Kent.

The Independent Prescriber will provide expert clinical input to older people with organic and functional mental health problems. Their specialist older adult knowledge and expertise will be invaluable in supporting the team, in order to provide enhanced capacity, capability, productivity and efficiency.

The post holder will need to demonstrate strong positive leadership skills and will work in partnership with patients, their carer’s and internal/external colleagues within the MDT to deliver high quality, evidence-based care. Other functions within the MDT may include a lead role relating to ensuring quality management systems are in place, overseeing medication management and safeguarding and supporting the development of student nurses.

The post will be hosted by the South West Kent Community Mental Health Services for Older People, which works across two bases, one in Sevenoaks and one in Tunbridge Wells. The team consists of Team Leaders, Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Community Psychiatric Nurses (CPNs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), Support Workers and an Administration team.
