Tân y Ddraig Ceramic Café Conwy is looking for someone with a background in ceramics to join our friendly team at our vibrant lively paint your own pottery & clay studio.

You will be provided with a broad range of training and as a result will contribute to the day-to-day running of the studio, working in the paint your own pottery studio as well as in the Clay Studio.

You might perhaps be a recent ceramics graduate (or have an equivalent qualification) or be someone with a background in ceramics wishing to return to work after a break.

Initially hours are about 20 per week. Please note there will be evening and weekend work.

The job is about giving the customer a great experience. We are looking for someone who is a fast learner, a creative problem solver, and is above all a people person. You must love babies, children and adults

**Responsibilities and Duties**

You will be expected to instruct painters & makers including teaching hand-building classes, teaching potter's wheel classes, teaching pottery painting classes, make and serve refreshments, discuss and sell our events, load and unload the kiln. You will also speak with customers on the telephone answering queries and taking bookings, take money and card payments and use the artwork tracking system. A large part of the job is ensuring the studio is clean and well maintained, including general cleaning in the studio, garden area and toilets. Other duties include, but will not be limited to, running parties and other events, unpacking stock shipments and opening and closing the studio.

**Qualifications and Skills**

You must:

- Have experience in hand-building, wheel throwing, surface decoration, glazing and mixed media are key ingredients for this role.
- Be passionate about ceramics.
- Be able to work flexible schedules including all school holidays.
- Be able to demonstrate initiative.

**It is not essential, but it would be helpful if you**:

- Have experience of customer service
- Have worked as part of a team and independently.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 14-21 per week

**Salary**: From £10.50 per hour
