Job Title: Kitchen Porter/assistant - Royal Yacht Britannia and Fingal Hotel

Hours: Full Time

Duration: Permanent

Pay: 12.10-12.65 per hour

Kitchen Porters/Assistants are playing an essential role in our catering operation and ensure our busy food outlets run smoothly. We currently have a vacancy for you to join our great team at a prestigious location in Edinburgh. With a dedicated and helpful approach, you’ll support our team of chefs with basic food preparation and ensure the kitchen areas and equipment are left glistening You’ll be assisting in washing up with use of commercial dish washer, handling waste removal as well as completing any administration tasks as required.

The Royal Yacht Britannia is an award-winning five-star visitor attraction and exclusive events venue in Edinburgh. The 210-strong team on board is committed to delivering the same standards of excellence expected when Britannia was in service. Fingal is Britannia's sister ship, a 22-cabin boutique five-star hotel and events venue with our Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar awarded 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with previous experience working in a busy hospitality environment, who has a can-do, flexible and positive attitude.

As our Kitchen Porter/Kitchen assistant duties are likely to include, but not limited to:
making sure all crockery, cutlery and glassware are cleaned to the highest standards before reaching our guests

Storing all equipment; crockery, glassware, cutlery accurately and safely

Maintain the highest standards in all storage areas so we can find what we need, when we need it

Ensuring the safe removal, segregation and storage of all recycling materials

Pay: From £12.10 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
