Highly developed skills in the use of complex methods of assessment, intervention and management, including the use of theoretical models to analyse, interpret and compare range of information. Ensure evidence and analytics are secured to support, inform activities and use the information in an insightful way to identify and mitigate risks and make measurable improvements to workforce. To provide Line management and Professional advice and support to the SEL ICS Workforce Programme team. Support the work programme under newly defined education governance to support all professional groups and have oversight of the education and training budget.

Take strategic decisions and follow up action to mitigate against risks to workforce supply by liaison and planning with regulatory bodies and ICS senior leaders in order to influence national actions and proactively support a SEL ICS response. Lead the design and development of new approaches to education and training delivering as required to address the People Strategy and operational response. Drive the overarching governance for the work programme. Be a key strategic contributor to the Board Assurance Framework (BAF) as professional/clinical lead for education, identifying interdependencies with other BAF risks as appropriate.

Provide strategic professional/clinical advisory support to Director of SEL ICS Workforce Programme as needed. Drawing from experience and expertise from national and global academic partners including industry, ensure that the System leaders benefits from access to research programmes and other appropriate innovations. Agree milestones and metrics with the Joint Medical Directors for regular reporting to governance fora. Produce high quality professional results to specified deadlines and other time constraints.
