Band 4 Speech and Language Therapy Technical Instructor

We are looking to recruit a self-motivated, friendly, enthusiastic and organised individual to join the speech and language team in Flintshire working closely with the Flying Start team and the Early Years Integration and Transformation Project. This is a full time post, working across a range of settings in Flintshire.

Early Years Integration and Transformation is a programme funded by Welsh Government to facilitate an early years system that enables children, pre-birth to age 7, to get the best start in life; a start that provides a strong base and opportunity for each child. Its aims are to transform and integrate provisions to enable a more seamless and combined service for both the child and their families. Flying Start is a programme funded by Welsh Government to support children aged 0-4yrs to have the best start in life and reach their full potential, consisting of a multi-disciplinary team who provide coordinated and intensive support to children and their families and work closely with partner agencies to ensure the needs of the individual children and their families are met.

As a Technical Instructor you will be expected (under the direct supervision of a Speech and Language Therapist) to independently provide therapy both individually and in groups to children with a varied range of speech, language and communication needs. You will appropriately modify approaches within programmes to meet those needs and develop appropriate and engaging individual and group activities. You will also be involved in delivering training in a range of settings.

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Quality Credit Framework qualification at level 3 e.g. NVQ related to Health & Social Care
- Experience of working with children with speech, language and communication needs
- Documented evidence of participation in relevant clinical training activities
