You’ll join our proactive customer focused Building Control team which has been involved in some exciting developments for the last few years, including our on-going multi-million-pound town centre redevelopment, major healthcare redevelopments and several large housing developments across the borough.
Having been named Council of the Year in 2018, you’ll join a team who have been working with our construction customers to ensure the safety of local residents and shoppers in the ongoing regeneration of our town, creating a top 30 shopping destination and modern fit for purpose housing in the area.
We’re looking for someone who can join us and keep the momentum going as the team changes to deliver the requirements of the Building Safety Regulator.

**What it’s like working in our team**:
The service prioritises an onsite presence and good customer service, being contactable and delivering the service in a flexible manner.
**You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training**:
- Working with a Principal Building Control Surveyor delivering the building control service in one of the team areas.
- Plan checking.
- Site inspections.
- Hoarding/scaffold licences and dangerous structures.
- Professional development to meet the relevant level for BSR validation as required.
