Wood is looking to recruit an EHV Cabling Supervisor with experience in carriageway excavation and all aspects of cabling installations.

**Purpose of the role**
- To supervise and deliver key packages of construction projects
- Remit will include assisting in the production of construction plans, coordination of Engineering Support team (Surveyor, Project Engineer, Materials Scheduler, Resources Coordinator, Engineering team), procurement of construction materials and specialist subcontracts, and related activities necessary for the successful delivery of the project. Senior member of contract management team supporting the Site Manager & Project Manager
- To establish and lead core delivery teams and exceed both Wood and client’s expectations
- Responsible for ensuring the technical solution is delivered on site in line with Wood Engineering department requirements and management systems

**Prime responsibilities and duties**

**SAFETY**
- Cooperate with WOOD in all matters pertaining to Health and Safety to enable the Company to carry out and enhance its legal duties and requirements.
- Responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of all persons under your control.
- Drive HEART card reporting, lead by example and instill the Wood Safety Shield practice in all works delivered.
- Do not recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare safety and welfare.
- Bring to the attention of your manager any perceived shortcomings in health and safety arrangements or situations that you consider to be serious or imminent danger to yourself or others.
- Do not undertake any safety critical work activity or activity for which a specific competence is required, unless you have received the necessary training/instruction and/or assessment and hold the appropriate Competency/Authorisations. Do not instruct others to undertake such work if they do not hold the appropriate Competency/Authorisations.
- Ensure that accidents and incidents are promptly reported, giving accurate details established at the time of the incident.
- Communicate safety alerts and information to all persons involved in construction operations.

- Manage commercial and business risks to achieve targets on projects.
- Manage contractors in line with contract specifics.
- Manage and coordinate materials and resources to achieve project objectives in line with works programme.
- Pro-actively manage the customer relationship during tender and delivery, including change and decision making to effectively manage expectations.
- Leadership of Safety Shield Initiatives and drive for continuous improvement across SHESQ within projects.
- Show clear and visible leadership and display the right leadership behaviors.
- Develop and support the operational teams to be successful by talking positively, listening actively and encouraging constantly.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Input and support of the project execution plans, including definition of project objectives and strategies, work scope, risk and opportunities, overall work plan and schedule, financial plan, quality, and safety requirements etc., consistent with the terms of the respective Contract and Wood project execution plan mandatory contents.
- Review the scope of works to be carried out with the Project and/or Site Managers, identifying and agreeing safe systems of work to be employed.
- Maintain accurate site records of activities undertaken by in-house and sub-contractors to enable an audit trail and work closely with the QS.
- Liaise with the Project and/or Site Managers to ensure a timely requisition for sufficient plant and equipment is made, giving adequate notice to Resources.
- Review method statements and risk assessments that are specific to construction activities and assist in compiling the Work packs ensuring they contain all relevant information.
- Arrange that all operatives in the gangs are given site inductions prior to any site activities starting and daily briefings prior to commencing any activity.
- Ensure all site personnel have the correct authorisations to operate plant or receive permits.
- Maintain close contact with respective Client Representatives throughout the project to ensure satisfactory reaction to Client’s needs or criticisms.
- Be responsible for carrying out weekly inspections of all plant, lifting equipment and recording on the appropriate forms.
- Identification and escalation of changes in the scope of work and ensuring that appropriate change requests are current and adequate.
