Associate Practitioner

Derbyshire Pathology is a partnership between the departments of Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Royal Derby Hospital and Queen’s Hospital Burton providing a wide range of services for both Trusts and Derbyshire GP’s, serving a population of over 1 million.

We are looking for two enthusiastic, committed individuals to join our team within the Blood Sciences Department at the Chesterfield Royal Hospital site as full time, permanent Band 4 Associate Practitioners.

We have full UKAS ISO15189:2012 accreditation and we are also accredited with the IBMS as a training laboratory.

Our modern laboratories are well equipped with a Sysmex XN9000 line and CS5100 analysers in Haematology & Coagulation; Roche Cobas 8000 analysers and an 8100 pre analytics module in Biochemistry. Biorad IH1000's and Blood360 blood tracking system in blood transfusion.

Key duties include specimen processing and the use and maintenance of laboratory equipment rotating through all sections of Blood Sciences and Blood Transfusion for which full training will be given.
