The Role

The post contributes to the Service’s provision to students across the University as well as developing resources and assisting with working practices that ensure achievement towards the aims of Aberystwyth University’s Employability Strategy.

Appointments are normally made within 4 - 8 weeks of the closing date.

What you’ll do
- Support the day-to-day delivery of an in-person and online customer service to all students and graduates engaging with the University Careers Service, including a range of administrative tasks and outreach.
- Increase awareness of, and engagement with, Careers Service events and opportunities, including the active and effective use of social media to disseminate information and event details.
- Support the scheduling and production of communications for Careers Service opportunities and events.
- Contribute to the development of online content via the Careers Service website
- Co-ordinate the inputting of vacancies and events into the ABERcareers database
- Respond efficiently and professionally to enquiries or requests for information.
- Maintain accurate student engagement and placement records.
- Support the administration and promotion of the ABERforward placement scheme.
- Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post.
- To be committed to the University’s Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy, together with an understanding of how it operates within the responsibilities of the post.
- To be committed to your own development and that of your staff through the effective use of the University’s Effective Contribution Scheme.
- Any other reasonable duties requested commensurate with the grade of this role.

Who you are - Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills required

**Essential**
- Keen interest in the employability of students and graduates.
- Enthusiasm for, and commitment to, delivering an exceptional student experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including experience of presenting information clearly and concisely in a variety of forms to different audiences.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to work positively with staff and students.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, including the ability to work to deadlines.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team, be reliable and able to work independently with mínimal supervision when necessary.
- Possess excellent digital capabilities including knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel, database packages, alongside experience of using social and digital media within a professional setting.
- An understanding of the Higher Education sector.
- Oral (spoken) and Written Welsh Level B1.
- An ability to understand the bilingual nature of the University and an awareness of the procedures in place to support working bilingually.

**Desirable**
- Aberystwyth University graduate
- Experience of supporting projects and/or organising events.
- An ability to gather and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
- Creative design skills for making media assets on multiple platforms.
- Oral (spoken) and Written Welsh Level B2 or above.
