**Aspiring Gang Intervention Worker - Behaviour Mentor - SEMH - Reigate**

Would you like to work with young people who need support with their social, emotional mental health? Are you interested in working with young people that are at risk of offending and are likley to be invovled in gangs?

**The School**:
The school is based near Reigate and provides support for children aged 9-16 years who have a range of learning and behavioural needs due to social, emotional and mental health challenges. All students that attend the school have a designated Education HealthCare Plan (EHCP) which details their specific needs in terms of the care and support they will have access to. The pupils at the school can struggle to form string, healthy relationships and can present high levels of anxiety and challenging behaviour. Thereis high chance that these young people will be young offenders or at risk of offending. They are also really vulnerable and at risk of being groomed into local county lines gangs.

The school is part of an award winning academy trust that has schools across Surrey, London, Sussex and Berkshire. All the schools in the Trust have access to The Training School, so as a member of staff, you will have access to high levels of ongoing supportand training which will help your career to progress.

**What is involved**:

- This is not a fully based class role, but you will still be providing assistance and supervision for children's behaviour during the school day and supporting their learning and participation in class
- You will be working closely with the students outside of the class to provide additional support, advice and guidance around the school
- You will support with transitioning between classes and ensuring that behaviour is maintained during breaks
- You will have the opportunity to work with students during offsite visits, meetings and trips
- Helping to build confidence and motivation
- Participating in team meetings and training programmes as an active member of a team
- Maintaining progress records
- Supporting regulations pertaining to safeguarding

**What is required**:

- Knowledge and/or a keen interest and understanding of the range of different types of learning and behavioural needs
- Good interpersonal and communication skill and a caring attitude
- Flexibility in terms of working patterns

**Summary**:

- £75 to £90 daily rate (5-day week - 8.30am to 4.00pm)
- Special needs schools and mainstream settings with specialist provision (SEMH, challenging behaviour)
- Full time and part time roles, flexible working hours and short and long term contracts
