Commercial Specialist (Digital & Transformation Project Contracts - Negotiation & Management)

An exciting opportunity has become available at Scottish Water in our Digital and Transformation directorate. The role is with our Digital commercial team responsible for procuring digital products and services and the management of contracts in support of our Digital and transformation programmes. The Digital and Transformation directorate is right at the heart of the plans to transform our business, we will be initiating many exciting digital transformation projects right across our business. The Digital procurement specialist role is pivotal to delivering successful projects, you will work closely with Scottish Water programme managers and our Digital and Transformation partners to negotiate contracts with global IT service providers and to manage those contracts to successful outcomes. The role requires strong commercial and negotiation skills along with a detailed understanding of Digital technologies and the challenges of implementing complex IT projects. You will work with all areas of the business and operate at senior levels of the organisation. This is a very exciting and challenging role that will be right at the heart of transforming our business.

Essential skills and experience,- Strong business and negotiation skills. At least 2 years experience in a similar commercial role, ideally in IT/digital, comfortable negotiating complex agreements >£500k- Experience of working with Global IT service providers.- Skilled at supplier relationship management and contract management- Risk management, skilled at identifying key contractual risks and establishing and delivering appropriate mitigation measures- Excellent communicator, with ability to influence a range of stakeholders at all levels.

Desirable skills and experience- Knowledge of IT project delivery approaches, including prince 2 and Agile.- MCIPS/IACCM qualified or working towards accreditation.- Understanding of the Public Procurement Regulations and/or Utilities Contracts Regulations.

Salary scale: £34,609 to £47,149
