**Role**: Despatch Supervisor **Reporting to**:Department Manager

**Site**: Lossie Seafoods, Arbroath

**Shift Pattern**:Monday to Friday with Sunday cover on a rotating basis, 40 hours per week

**Pay**: Salary and benefits to be negotiable depending on entry-level skills and/or experience.

**Job Overview**:
The purpose of the role is to lead a team to deliver the product volume required as planned, whilst consistently achieving all set standards including H&S, ethical, food safety and quality, efficiency, customer specifications, and hygiene. You will be looking after all areas within despatch: packing, picking, yard and stores. You will be responsible for efficient receipt, storage and despatch of products, packaging and ingredients.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- To ensure all products leave the site on time and in full and coordinate site deliveries
- Managing and coordinating all staff within department including recruitment, performance management, absence management, difficult conversations;
- H&S responsibilities include reporting hazards, staff briefings, start-ups, audits, accident reporting and investigations
- Recording staff working hours on a system, and making sure working hours are withing ethical limits
- Maintaining skills matrix, ensuring all training is up to date
- Communication within department, company and external
- Responsible for food safety and quality of products - management of all processes, equipment, people;
- Customer Code of Practice - awareness + adherence;
- Measuring, recording and analysing of KPIs;
- Taking part in and supporting customer and internal audits;
- Ensuring quality procedures and policies are followed;
- Driving efficiencies within department such as yield, waste, labour cost, changeovers, equipment, cost per kilo, transport cost
- Previous experience in similar role, preferably within FMCG
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- People management skills
- Computer literate with good knowledge of Excel
- Ability to plan and prioritise workloads in order to meet deadlines
- High Attention to detail
- Highly organized with high literacy and numeracy
- Problem solving
