Yard Operative

1. Ensure the safe and efficient storage of products waiting distribution.
2. Support the efficiency of the yard operations in line with quality procedures.
3. Keep the yard tidy in line with quality and health and safety standards.
4. Ensure vehicles are kept clean and tidy.
5. Supporting delivery of agreed levels of customer service.
6. Supporting other team members with enquiries and problems.
7. Offloading lintels, steel and all incoming supplies to ensure goods are safely stored and correctly identified for distribution.
8. Offloading supplier deliveries in yard and storing safely.
9. Completing Job cards
10. Loading/unloading trucks with all incoming/outgoing goods using a forklift truck and checking against paperwork.
11. Despatch goods to customers and sub-contractors.
12. Driving goods for despatch as and when required.
13. Working as part of the full Westline family ethics by helping other teams including Shop floor and Architectural as required.
14. Ensure that all delivery notes are handed in to the office for processing.
15. Assist with stocktaking.
16. Housekeeping.

**JOB TITLE**:Yard Operative Labourer

**RESPONSIBLE TO**:Sales Administration and Transport Manager

**LOCATION**:Birtley

**TEAM**:Operations

**HOURS**:37.25 hours

**PURPOSE**:
To undertake the successful implementation and completion of yard tasks, plant upkeep, stock recording, batching, unloading & loading of vehicles, deliveries. Whilst supporting the safe and efficient operation of Westline Distribution yard and teams to include day-to-day safe working practices.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Fork Lift Truck Licence
- Full driving licence.
- CIS card
- Experience in a similar environment.
- Experience of safe manual handling and working at heights.
