The Ladywood constituency is located to the west of Birmingham and contains the city centre; it comprises the four inner city wards of Aston, Ladywood, Nechells and Soho
Levels of deprivation in Ladywood constituency are very high, with over half the population living in the 5% most deprived neighborhoods in England. The entire constituency population lives in the 40% most deprived areas of the country.
46.9% of children in the Ladywood constituency are defined as being in poverty, this is above the city rate of 37.1% and significantly above the UK rate of 25.1%.

We are excited to welcome applicants who are highly skilled, enthusiastic clinical practitioners and have a good understanding of the needs of children, young people and their families and want to be part of our journey to work as part of an integrated early years, health and well-being service.
The post holder is responsible for assessing need and providing health promotion and illness prevention services to t he local population. The post holder will work within a corporate caseload as well as with the local population on children and family centred public health related issues.
The post holder will be a first level registered nurse with a Health Visiting Degree/Diploma/ Certificate. The post holder will work within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
Responsible for
Day-to-day management and delegation of work to nursery nurses, link workers and any other support staff within the team. Including supervision and monitoring the work of these staff.
To oversee and plan in-service development for these staff.

There are development opportunities that support career progression within health visiting. We have a number of Band 7 posts that can be considered alongside either clinical or management development.
BCHC offer an attractive Recruitment & Retention Premia for health visiting based on an additional payment for colleagues in Band 6 and Band 7 posts. It will be accompanied by a commitment to fund any reasonable request for continuing professional development during the year. Representatives of the health visitors were involved in developing the proposal.
BCHC also support practitioners who have been out of practice for a while, and offer a Return to Practice framework, all of the above can be discussed at interview.
