Key responsibilities of the role:

- Working closely with the sales and customer service team to provide first-class service to our international customers.
- Working with the warehouse team members to manage the order process and the running of the warehouse.
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of the shipment process with shipping lines and other service providers, including booking, documentation, and customs clearance.
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and carriers to ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods.
- Arrange transportation and logistics services, such as trucking, shipping, and air freight, to meet the specific needs of each shipment.
- Prepare and process necessary shipping and customs documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and export/import documentation.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and proactively resolve any issues or delays that may arise.
- Optimise shipping routes and methods to minimise costs and improve efficiency.
- Support process improvements and the introduction of lean processes within warehouse and inventory/stock management.
- Using an internal ERP system to input data accurately.
- Deliver a health and safety culture, and monitor the warehouse, yard, forklift, and manual handling equipment so that a safe and efficient working environment is always promoted.
- Managing customer projects to make sure the warehouse process delivers the optimised results.
- Facility management

Skills & Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Food warehousing and distribution experience is desirable.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Self-starter with the ability to use his initiative and have a drive for continuous improvement.
- Comfortable using IT systems and computers.
- Problem-solving skills to handle unexpected issues or delays in the shipment process.
- High level of attention to detail and a “can-do” attitude.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs requirements.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Must have the ability to rapidly adapt to change.
- Counterbalance licence would be ideal
