**Warehouse Operative**

Avocet Hardware Group Ltd is looking for **Warehouse Operatives **to join our friendly team.

**Responsibilities**:
You will be required to undertake a variety of duties in the warehouse as directed by the senior members of the Warehouse Management Team to receive, store, process and distribute stocks from our suppliers (via the warehouse operation) to our customers. These will include the following:

- To carry out picking, packing, dispatch, loading/unloading and despatching of stock as instructed.
- Having experience of forklift truck driving with valid licences will be preferable
- To complete all documentation required during the undertaking of tasks
- To ensure correct handling of all materials
- To operate any equipment including IT equipment, powered equipment and machinery where appropriate> Employee will be given instructions and training to use the equipment.
- To ensure that all defects or issues are reported and corrected at the earliest opportunity
- To ensure accuracy and efficiency in all tasks undertaken
- To support the good running and control of the Business, as part of the Operations team.
- To ensure the completion of any required documentation or paperwork.
- To maintain personal work schedules to endeavour to deliver agreed, scheduled and ad hoc requirements.
- To work in line with agreed legal and Company policies/standards and with particular regard to HSE and Quality Assurance.
- To ensure your work area is maintained in a clean, tidy and organised manner at all times.
- Cleaning of the warehouse and pathways.
- To support any necessary risk assessment, safe systems of work or training document production relevant to your area of work.
- To raise any issues or problems encountered
- To contribute to a stable and motivated team

**Experience**:
Experience - 3 years plus preffered.

**Previous experience in a warehouse environment, picking, packing or fabricating, is preferred. In addition any experience working with heavy equipment (pallet jack & forklift) is preferred.**
- Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication skills
- Computer literate
- English and Maths required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: From £10.42 per hour
