Trainee Bedroom Fitter Carpenter

**The Position**

Town & Country Bedrooms are seeking a Fitters Mate / Trainee Bedroom Fitter/Carpenter to join our growing Highly Skilled Fitting Team. This is a full time challenging and stimulating role that will develop your carpentry and personal skills to progress to the Bedroom Fitters position.

Applicants will ideally already have NVQ carpentry qualifications and already be competent in carpentry skills. Training will be provided on the job and your skills will develop day by day. The position is a fast moving one and from day 1 you will be learning the trade and other aspects of the business.

**Basic Requirements**

You must be able to demonstrate a competence with power tools and general woodworking although full training will be given. It is a requirement that you drive commercial vehicles so a full UK car driving licence is required. You must be physically fit as the job requires continuous lifting and strenuous work. This is a customer facing role, so a great can do happy to help attitude is essential.

**The Job**

The fitters mate is just that. You are the fitters right hand man or "wing man" even The list is endless. Load the van for the job, deliver the job, help the fitters with all aspects of fitting the job. Interpret the plans. Set out the room. Assemble the products. Cut and scribe as necessary. Fix to walls. Fit the hinges. Fit the handles. Clear down and clean up. Clean and tidy the warehouse. Prepare the jobs in the warehouse prior to delivery. The list goes on You must have a natural attention to detail and a customer focussed outlook.

**The Location**

The showroom and warehouse is Bridgend based but your area of travel will take you from Carmarthen to Chepstow on the M4 corridor and above into the valleys. You may occasionally work beyond these areas.

**The package**

This is a full time employed position and includes 28 days paid holidays. (20 working days plus 8 bank holidays) Company uniform/clothing and a company pension scheme. The renumeration package depends on the level of development you are at. We would expect you to progress to the Bedroom Fitters role.

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
