Newborn Hearing Screener

An opportunity has arisen to work within the Mid and West Wales Region of Newborn Hearing Screening Wales, an All-Wales Programme, which provides a uniform service of high quality within an All-Wales policy and to All-Wales standards and protocols.

Based at Glangwili Hospital, you will work as part of a team participating in the hearing screening of newborn babies. You will undertake the full range of newborn hearing screening duties both in a hospital and community setting.

Duties include communicating with the parents throughout the process, baby handling, use of screening equipment and accurately recording clinical and test data relevant to the screening process, therefore good communication skills and experience of using a computer are essential. You must be a confident and reliable individual and possess the ability to work well under pressure.

The post is for 20 hours per week. The ability to work additional hours as needed is desirable. You will be required to work full time during the initial training period.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
