Due to internal progression, we currently have a vacancy at our offices in Barrow in Furness for an Apprentice Technical Author. This is a great opportunity to develop skills and experience whilst studying at Furness college to obtain a Engineering technical Level 3 qualification.

**As an Apprentice Technical Author at Allan Webb we will help you learn and develop skills in the following**:

- Evaluating and appraising source technical information supplied by the Project Leader
- Learn methods in the production of technical information in accordance with appropriate standards
- Work towards the capability to be able to raise issues of concern regarding product safety, regulatory compliance, or technical risk to the attention of Line Management
- Use appropriate desk instructions to support and manage their own development
- Become an integrated part of the technical publications team based in Barrow-in-Furness
- Liaise with Technical Illustrators as appropriate.
- Gain a thorough understanding of technical publication production
- Develop excellent written and engineering skills
- Develop problem solving skills.

**Required Skills/Experience**:

- GCSE’s in mathematics, English and science.
- Excellent IT Skills
- Customer focused and be able to work well as part of a close knit team

**Job Types**: Full-time, Apprenticeship

**Salary**: £20,300.00-£22,300.00 per year
