Caretaker/cleaner

**About you**:
We are looking for a Caretaker who has experience of working within the facilities industry. Key skills and requirements will include:

- Being fit and healthy as the post requires physical exertion;
- Have prior experience of manual handling procedures;
- Being able to prioritise tasks based on need.

Caretaker Duties
- Maintain and service of all areas of the business to a high standard
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks as required
- performance in accordance with laid down specifications.
- Liaise with, monitor and assist contractors who are onsite carrying out repairs and maintenance work.
- Carry out non-specialist building maintenance work e.g, plumbing, glazing, carpentry, decorating etc., where such work is agreed as being within the reasonable capacity of normal DIY skills with strict adherence to the H&S regulations and internal procedures.
- Clean outside areas as required and detailed.
- Ensure stocks of required cleaning and sanitary products are held in sufficient quantities
- Inspect and maintain certain maintenance equipment and carry out minor repairs and report defects.

Cleaner Duties
- To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the business on a daily basis ensuring that the cleaning schedule, frequency of tasks and standards are met at all times.
- To perform a range of cleaning tasks including hoovering, dusting, mopping. To effectively clean offices, meeting, training rooms, washrooms and shower rooms, kitchens, canteen facilities and to support the cleaning of the warehouse.
- Clean gullies and drains at surface level.
- Clean the warehouse floor, stairs and surfaces, removing all debris and dispose of in the appropriate waste bin.
- Check all warehouse bins daily and empty when full, ensuring the correct waste stream goes into the correct skip.
- To use cleaning materials appropriately, as instructed and economically; to inform Line Manager when stocks are low.
- To ensure that all waste is removed from all areas of the business to the designated areas, including the separation of waste, i.e., recycling.
- Good communication
- Self motivated with an ability to work under pressure
- Organised and methodical approach
- High level of DIY skills.

Pay: £12.44 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
