The Department of Chemistry at Lancaster University seeks to appoint an exceptional individual to the role of Experimental Officer - Battery Specialist, to support the execution of academic and industrial project research in the area of battery materials within our “Bat Lab” facility.

You will have a strong, evidenced track record of hands-on experience in the operation of battery cyclers for the study of electrochemical cells, including method development, data interpretation and maintenance. Experience of working with industry would be advantageous.

The Department of Chemistry was re-opened in 2012 and has undergone rapid expansion and development. The Department consists of a core complement of more than 20 members of academic staff and a thriving community of post-doctoral researchers, PGR and UG students. It ranks highly in the UK (13th in the Guardian University Guide 2023) with state-of-the-art labs housed in a completely refurbished building. You will join a team of departmental experimental officers who maintain our core instrumental research facilities (NMR, X-ray, mass spectrometry & HPLC, and AFM & SEM).
