GCU are a specialised contractor that offers a full suite of services to several key sectors including Utilities, Telecommunications, Civil Engineering and Traffic Management. With offices and projects across the UK, GCU work collaboratively with clients to deliver projects from inception to completion, producing high-end results while maintaining excellent safety standards.

GCU require an additional Planner to join the team in covering Newcastle and the North Tyneside area.

The GCU Project Planning Team aim is to ensure that work scopes are appropriately planned and communicated meeting internal resourcing, NSRWA91 and client requirements. To plan and co-ordinate works in accordance with Client release dates and GCU resourcing capabilities whilst meeting all NRSWA requirements.

Operational Responsibilities
- “Walk the job” with both the client and the local authority to determine if GCU can carry out its duties safely as proposed by the design and determine any risk, additional mitigations during Operations
- Submit all TTRO’s and TTL permits to the local authority ahead of time - Ensure all notices are aligned to all permits submitted
- Create and maintain a three-week programme for the resource that matches the programme of works for the project
- Request any TM drawings as required from internal TM Team
- Answer any planning queries from operations team regarding onsite issues identified or Council specific restrictions

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Experience in use of MS Office - MS Excel & MS Project in particular
- Experience as a Planner, or similar within the Utilities or Construction sectors
- Ability to work within a team
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Awareness of NRSWA planning requirements - or willingness to learn
- Driving licence
