Job - Head of Supply Chain
Location - Kent
Salary GBP60/70k
My client is looking for an experienced, proven and dynamic business and supply chain leader who will add significant value, strategic direction, planning, and best practices execution towards the companys future plans and growth
Striking the balance between being hands on and strategic, youll be more than happy to balance supply chain strategy with rolling your sleeves up on operational levels
Some Responsibilities:

- Oversee develop and deploy supply chain strategy to optimise effective delivery of; materials, goods and services to the business.
- Responsible for leading the supply chain/purchasing departments
- Build, motivate and lead a high performing supply chain team operationally efficient and scalable to meet the developing needs of the business.
- Provide inspirational and effective leadership to the supply chain function, assuming overall responsibility for purchasing activities across the business. Guiding and coaching the supply chain projects, setting priorities, delegating workload, and developingpolicies and procedures.
- Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organisation.
- Devise programs and projects to add value and raise efficiency through; supplier rationalisation, contract and agreement negotiation, optimised material flow and inventory control
- Act as a role model of professional procurement practice, delivering pragmatic and high-quality solutions to meet the needs of the organisation
- Collaborate and share best practice with other procurement leaders across the group of companies.
Your experience will consist of:

- Experienced ERP super user, optimising supply chain, inventory control and material flow transactions, able to support and guide efficient flow of information and reporting.
- An excellent communicator with the ability to build strong and trusting relationships.
- Strategic Project and Program management experience supported by an established background in supplier and contract management.
- Boasting many years and track-record within a relevant industry or sector, experience of working for a medium/large scale business in an international group.
- Providing a track-record demonstrating high standards in the pursuit of customer satisfaction and product quality.
- You will be experienced in leading projects through influence (with the ability to clearly demonstrate the benefits of new ways of working)
- A confident clear communicator capable of representing the business in a professional manner in vendor dialogues and negotiations
- You will need to be persuasive, have a strong continuous improvement mindset, and have proven experience of dealing with diverse internal
- and external stakeholders.
- Ability to grow with the business and open to opportunities to further broaden the management responsibilities.
Education and previous knowledge:

- Degree in purchasing or equivalent or related discipline. Qualified purchasing professional (MCIPS) with significant relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of leading a cross business unit team
- Experience in developing compelling business propositions with a systems approach.
- Hands on approach to coaching and management. Proven at developing a continuous improvement culture to drive & deliver efficiency.
