**Helpplay a key role in ensuring the success and supporting the growth of our Insurance Direct telesales team here at Markel.**

We are looking for a dedicated and driven **Telesales Manager**who can lead, develop and grow our Insurance Renewals Sales Team here in our Manchester city centre office. We offer a range of products including professional indemnity, publicliability, employers liability, D&O, property, occupational personal accident, legal representation and employment cover and cyber. Our markets are created through direct to consumer channels; online or via our UK call centre or through alternative white labelpartnership brands.

We have two retail brands that attract customers from different sectors of the micro/SME market. Markel Direct has been running for 10 years and targets multiple sectors including IT, fitness, Therapists, Photographers and Charities & Community Group. OurCaunce O’Hara brand offers specialist insurance to contractors, consultants, freelancers, self-employed professionals and to the oil & rail sectors. Both brands have the capability to offer white label functionality to partnership opportunities depending onwhat solution are being sought.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Play a key role in ensuring success and supporting growth of the Direct telesales team
- Handle all activity including new business, renewals, MTA’s and service enquiries within SLA’s
- Prioritise all the various work flow queues to deliver strong results and meet the targets/SLAs
- Work within underwriting authority to ensure all opportunities are maximised
- Run the telephony system to ensure efficiency is being driven throughout the telesales team
- Produce forecasts on a monthly basis, measure and report against these back to senior management and feed into the overall Direct & Partnerships team strategy
- Proactively suggest product and process development / improvements
- Provide daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly MI on sales performance and engage with senior management to present progress
- Engage with affinity partners to provide monthly MI
- Lead and run the telesales team, to include - recruitment, induction and training for new joiners
- Performance management of all employees including regular 1-2-1 reviews, annual appraisals and underperformance processes where a need is identified
- Coaching and support for team members to enhance sales performance (sales and renewal retention)
- Motivating and pro-actively driving performance on a daily basis, monitoring performance against SLAs

**What we’re looking for**:

- Strong sales focus and be income driven
- Experience of all aspects of line management and the ability to lead a team
- Strong, proven experience of delivering successful results through a telesales function
- Understand the importance technology plays in creating a successful efficiency model
- Be able demonstrate success of delivering consistently strong numbers through proactive management
- Be passionate about your desire to succeed
- Experienced in producing timely and accurate reporting and presenting back to senior stakeholders
- Have an understanding of accurate forecasting
- Previous experience of either the Insurance or Financial Service industry
