Middlesbrough, United Kingdom Project Escape Uk Full time

**Primary Role**:

- To welcome participants of a live escape room experience, introduce the game and ensure their safety.
- Monitor the game progress via monitor and earphones.
- Provide hints and helpful tips if needed.
- Reset the game after every team, which includes tidying up.
- Contribute to the marketing team with social media photos and posts.
- Help with any other Escape Room needs including light cleaning duties.

**Strong customer service skills**

**Strong social skills**

You must have an excellent grasp of English and be able to communicate it well. Someone who can look after the clients and pay attention to their needs. Able to read the audience and interact with them to suit their personalities, helping them feel comfortable and relaxed. Be able to tell when teams need intervention in their game and when to hold back.

**Intuition and Adaptability**

We are not expecting an in-depth knowledge of puzzles and/or escape rooms (though if you have any experience of games, the entertainment industry in general or running team events this is a bonus).

We do expect you to be able to learn quickly and think on your feet - sometimes things don’t always go to plan and you may need to come up with solutions quickly. We expect you to be able to learn and appreciate the subtleties of running a high-quality escape experience and understand different teams require different approaches.

You also need to feel confident working alone, without constant supervision.

**Generally**

We expect you to be enthusiastic, presentable, well-mannered with great attention to detail. You must be fully focused whilst monitoring your team to ensure that you can always help them quickly and appropriately. You must ensure there are no errors when resetting the room - a single reset error can ruin the entire experience.

**Flexibility in your availability**

We open from 11:00 am to 21:15 pm 7 days a week depending on our escapees’ requests. You need to be flexible and keen to work evenings, weekends and holidays also.

**Computer Literate**

Our games are part-run via basic computer systems which we would teach you to use. We also use a booking system and various audio/visual equipment, and we need applicants to be comfortable with basic computer tasks and willing to learn to use the new systems/processes.

**Could this be you?**

Please include the following information in your covering letter:

- Why you are interested in becoming a Games Host with us and why you are suited to the role?
- Some interesting facts about yourself - likes/dislikes.
- Your flexibility/availability
- Whether you currently have another job that would continue alongside this one.

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £11.49-£23.43 per hour

Schedule:

- Holidays
- Weekend availability
