**About the role**
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a **Highways Maintenance Operative** to join our Regional team to work in** **Newton Mearns and maintaining roads in East Renfrewshire, East Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire.

**What you'll be doing**

As a
**Highways Maintenance Operative** you will:

- Provide winter maintenance operations including participating in a shift system and winter standby rota;
- Be responsible for traffic management;
- Participate in emergency response on a rostered basis;
- Civil works e.g. Carriageway patching, drainage and fencing repairs;
- Cyclic works e.g. Sign cleaning, gully cleaning and grass cutting.

**Who we're looking for**

**The following qualities and experience are essential**:

- Class 1 or 2 LGV licence;
- In receipt or working towards Driver CPC qualification;
- NHHS 12 AB Traffic management experience;
- Knowledge and awareness of health & safety procedures and standards.

**The following qualities/experience are desirable**:

- Winter maintenance experience;
- NRSWA Qualification;
- First Aid Qualification;
- CPCS Telescopic Telehandler.
