**Brief Description**:
Maintain, control and monitor the supply, storage and use of plant, materials and consumables. Provide facilities management services for the delivery unit.

**About the role (External)**:
**Every day will be different, but you can expect to be involved in the following activities**:
1. Lead and direct the Logistics team to achieve business and functional objectives and meet key performance measures.

2. Manage development of individuals and the engagement of the team.

3. Manage the arrangements for staff safety and competence.

4. Identify and implement safety, asset performance, reliability, productivity and efficiency improvement initiatives.

5. Maintain optimum stock levels to avoid shortages and impact on work delivery.

6. Maintain all allocated stores and compound in a safe and efficient manner.

7. Minimise wastage of materials and manage the disposal of waste in accordance with standards.

8. Identify and report on recurring defects in plant and materials.

9. Manage maintenance of small plant and equipment.

10. Manage calibration of small plant, tools and equipment.

11. Check that all unoccupied, operational and occupied buildings are maintained to standards.

12. Act as the client for accommodation and building projects.

13. Drive improvement and efficiencies in the management of small plant, equipment and materials.

14. Undertake an agreed programme of safety tours and staff surveillance.

**About the role**:
**In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be**:

- Knowledge of logistics processes and techniques
- Knowledge of plant and tools specification
- Knowledge of Environmental Legislation
- Knowledge of relevant standards and procedures
- Good communication and organisation skills
- Knowledge of relevant Company IT systems

**We would also like but it isn’t crucial to have/to be**:

- Knowledge of operational railway
- Knowledge of contractual arrangements with suppliers
- Good understanding of maintenance processes and delivery techniques

Salary Band 4B: Starting at £34,050 and increasing to £38,305 per annum.

Network Rail adheres to a **structured pay framework**, any salary offered will be within the pay range advertised.
