We are looking for someone who is person-centered, innovative and evidence-based to further develop nutritional guidelines and improve nutritional standards.

Undertake a comprehensive, dietetic assessment of patients who
have a wide variety of clinical presentations.
To attend ward rounds regularly both on unit and off unit where
practical.
To provide specialist nutritional advice and treatment to patients on
and off the critical care and EPOC units, including Post-Critical Care
Rehabilitation Clinic and pre-habiliation clinics ensuring a high
standard of dietetic care
To prescribe or advise as appropriate; oral nutritional supplements;
enteral feeding regimes; parenteral feeding regimes. To monitor the
progress of these interventions and assess if more aggressive
nutritional support is indicated
To upskill as necessary to provide dietetic care for patients receiving
parenteral nutrition on critical care.
Work collaboratively with Nutrition Support Team to cover/provide
support in their absence.

The post holder will be based operationally within the Therapy Integration service, working under the direction of the Advanced Clinical Specialist Dietitians for Critical Care.

The post holder will be an experienced Dietitian who uses specialist knowledge and skills to undertake assessment, diagnosis and treatment of malnutrition including artificial nutrition support.

To supervise and develop junior staff including students

To identify and contribute to the development of resources required to provide an effective service both on the unit and with an out-reach cohort.

To provide cross cover to other areas of the hospital during absence of colleagues when necessary

To participate in research, audit and evaluation to develop knowledge and effectiveness of practice in nutritional intervention
