**About the Role**

An opportunity has arisen at Gorse Hill Studios to deliver our Youth Cabinet project with a focus on eliciting the voices of young people within Trafford. This Youth Project Worker role will be part of a small team of youth workers and arts industry professionals.

This role will focus on informing and recruiting young people from diverse backgrounds across Trafford. The worker will use their skills to advocate and deliver information affecting young people to the strategy makers of Greater Manchester.

The role will provide youth work support and advocacy for young people, particularly those who are marginalised, developing links and support young people to access events, conferences, residentials and visits at evenings and on weekends.

**Who we are looking for**

We are looking for an individual with a keen interest and understanding of policy and young people helping to shape and push change for all, developing them to speak at events and contribute to development and delivery of workshops. The post holder will understand young people and have a passion for advocating and driving change whilst building trusting relationships and providing high quality support.

**Roles & Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Youth Voice & SEND manager, you will work as part of our Youth Voice & SEND Team alongside a team of youth workers, young workers and arts industry professionals. You will be involved in developing the youth cabinet project and contributing to ideas for strand development.
- Establish and maintain relationships with colleagues, young people, and other agencies.
- Develop relationships with external agencies and partners, engaging with the planning, delivery, recording, monitoring and reporting of projects, inline with agreed outcomes, particularly around commissioned work.
- One to one support & advocacy
- Group work
- Contributing to needs/risk assessment/reporting/referrals
- To achieve targets and outcomes identified in annual performance reviews and regular management supervision sessions.
- Identify and provide young people with appropriate information, support and signposting relating to the issues that impact on their lives.
- Contribute to the effective planning of a range of different high-quality work with young people.
- Delivery of high-quality face to face work with young people using a range of engagement methods.
- Value and promote diversity and inclusion in the development and delivery of the programme.
- Manage time and resources effectively.
- Effective data collection, monitoring, and evaluation feedback to manager.
- Attend commissioning meetings to support the line manager.
- To deliver weekly youth cabinet sessions.
- Contributing to the planning and delivery of workshops and services to schools and external partners around current themes.
- Attend regular meetings and network forums as required.
- Ensure safeguarding of all young people involved at Gorse Hill Studios.
- To work within an anti-discrimination framework.
- Commit to continuing professional development to meet changing demands of the job and participate in appropriate training activities.
- Any other reasonable duties as identified by the Line Manager and appropriate to the level and grading of the post.
- Adhere to all GHSCC Policies including, health and safety, safeguarding, confidentiality and undertake mandatory training as required.
