Cambridge, United Kingdom Echion Technologies Full time

**Job Title**: **Technical Content Writer (full time)**

**Reports to: Marketing Manager**

**Department: Commercial**

**Location: Sawston, HQ**

**Who we are**

It's a fantastic time to join Echion. The company is now successfully trading with its flagship XNO® product. We have big commercial ambitions and a super exciting roadmap of new products to develop.

**Job Summary**

You will be interested in science and technical innovation. You will be proactive and have great attention to detail and will be able to craft engaging stories and content from sometimes limited information. You must be comfortable engaging with the whole Echion team, our external agencies and increasingly with our suppliers and customers.

This is a challenging role as you will often be required to organise colleagues to supply you with what you need to write pieces, to work relatively unsupervised to agreed deadlines and to establish a ‘house’ style and approach to content that will sustain Echion into the future.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. To work with members of the R&D, technical and commercial teams to produce the required number of white papers, technical updates and supporting posts/articles

2. To work with the CEO on content for his own LinkedIn timeline

3. Produce copy for brochures, leaflets and materials to support exhibitions, presentations and seminars.

5. To work with the Marketing Manager and Echion agencies on a content programme that includes key topics and avoids repetition and duplication of work

6. To ensure the output from Echion via all relevant channels meets our goals for positioning, customer engagement and technical accuracy.

7. As a member of the Marketing function, proactively contribute to building the marketing capabilities of Echion and supporting Marketing activities beyond technical writing from time to time.

**Education & Qualifications required**

Degree level, ideally in a related science/engineering/tech discipline.

**Experience required**
- Be able to demonstrate a track record of writing and content creation, ideally in a similar in-house role
- Being able to show the development of pieces from idea to publication
- To have experience of working in a science/tech-based environment
- To have experience of both short and long form writing, with the ability to proofread and format your own work

**Skills & knowledge required**
- The ability to write and communicate effectively
- The ability to work relatively unsupervised to meet deadlines and output targets
- The ability to develop creative ways to communicate Echion’s messages and positioning
- The ability to write accurately and efficiently
- Knowledge of areas of science or engineering relevant to battery manufacture/use would be advantageous
- Appropriate skills for using Microsoft Office packages

**Success factors for the role**
- The ability to proactively engage with colleagues, to be inquisitive and develop ideas that may not be fully formed into successful pieces of content
- To take responsibility for the completion of larger projects such as white papers and technical updates
- To work effectively with external agencies to ensure brand and messaging consistency
- To have a focus on the commercial dynamics of the role, not just the technical accuracy
- Over time to develop a writing style/tone of voice that can be recognised as Echion
- To support the Marketing Manager and Chief Commercial Officer during busy and/or vacation periods
- To expand the content style to Echion’s other marketing collateral - leaflets, website etc.
- A positive attitude to managing priorities - keeping plates spinning while getting what you need form colleagues, external agencies and other stakeholders
- To build the trust and confidence of colleagues who will work with you on the preparation of technical content
