You will primarily be based in our beautiful 3 bed home in Heysham, joining an energetic and active team of staff and young people. The home is well situated close to the seaside town of Morecambe and a local nature reserve, offering excellent outdoor activity potential.

Our home is well-established in terms of routines and as such, we are looking for people who enjoy getting involved in physical activities, hobbies and possibly bringing new interests for our young people to get involved in.

**Your role as a Cluster Residential Child Care Worker**

Our Residential Child Care Workers will have a minimum of 12 months relevant care experience and have gained necessary residential child care qualifications, or being willing to gain these in due course.

As a Cluster RCCW, you will primarily work within our Heysham home, with occasional shifts worked in our other two homes in the area.

The role offers you **stability with the additional benefit of varied work**. It is ideally suited to someone who is flexible throughout the working week, nights and weekends, providing an opportunity to interact with different employees and children.

You will work as a team, building long lasting relationships with our children and young people. You will accompany our young people to and from school or college, potentially facilitate family contact and contribute to a warm and comforting environment in the home.

Having fun is a big part of the job and you will encourage both existing and new activities. You will also be involved in domestic duties, ideally involving our young people in this to encourage development of life skills.

Previous experience in Residential Child Care is extremely beneficial, however there are many transferable skills for this role. You need to have a **dedicated and resilient approach** as well as an extremely caring and nurturing nature.

As a Cluster RCCW, your shift patterns may vary depending on the requirements of the home and the site you work at. Your shifts will be agreed in advance with your line Manager. You may also be required to work in our other homes in the same geographical area on occasion.

**Essential Qualities that we look for include**:

- A creative ability towards having fun and learning new skills,
- Highly responsible and accountable when it comes to safeguarding our children and young people,
- A willingness to learn and develop your skills and abilities,
- Proficient IT skills and experienced in using Microsoft packages,
- A full Manual UK driver's licence.

**Desirable Qualities include**:

- One years' experience in child care or youth settings
- An SCQF Level 7 or Level 3 Diploma / relevant to Children and Young People's Residential workforce, or working towards.
- An interest in pursuing relevant Child Care qualifications,
- Familiar with the Codes of Practice set out by regulatory bodies, i.e. SSSC,
- An existing PVG / DBS certificate

**Remuneration and benefits**

Your salary will be £30,559.00 to £32,026 per annum, pro-rata, depending on experience and qualifications achieved.

Your contracted working hours will be 56.4 hours per week.
