You will have **great communication skills**, enjoy working as part of a team and **have Claims handling** experience and an interest in this kind of work.

**Purpose of Role**:
Responsible for dealing with own case load whilst assisting the Casualty Claims Manager in the running and managing of the overall pre-litigated caseload, from inception to settlement both pre and post via the MOJ portal process.

**Key Relationships**:

- Liaising with Claimant Solicitors/Medical Experts/Surveillance Companies (correspondence solicitors) to assist in handling claims
- Iceland Stores - Obtaining all necessary and relevant documentation in support of defending claims
- Internal Departments - Delivered Sales, H&S, HR, Retail, IT, Central Services, Payroll, Customer Care

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Liability assessments/decisions
- Quantum assessments/decisions - medical evidence, damages compensation
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing post
- Dealing with costs including conducting full breakdowns and negotiations
- Medical record reviews and synopsis
- Payment requests
- Assisting team members as and when required
- Assist in training new starters in a formal and non-formal setting including preparation of the same
- EL and PL claims for England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland
- Defamation claims

**Technical Skills**
- Experience of handling a caseload of EL/PL files. Employment Liability claims and Public Liability slip trip and falls.
- Positive, confident and enthusiastic.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise work, keep to deadlines and work under pressure.
- Ability to anticipate problems and identify solutions.
- Attention to detail.

**Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience**
- Experience with handling claims up to a value of £25,000.
- Ability to work on own experience/prioritise own workload.
- Ability to work and occasionally support the team.
- Multi tasking.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of stores.
