**HYBRID JOB 3 DAYS EDINBURGH TWO FROM HOME**

**WHO IS IGS?**

Intelligent Growth Solutions (IGS) is a fast-growing innovative Agritech OEM changing how the world does farming. Their leading edge indoor vertical farming towers allow IGS to control the weather and grow a range of plants, crops, fruit and herbs simultaneously at optimum conditions anywhere in the world.

Employing over 200 staff between sites in Edinburgh, outside Dundee and Inverkeithing in Fife, we are starting to sell vertical farming towers globally. We have successfully run an intern programme across multiple functions for a few years and this year is no different

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Research and Development - This is a small department made up of Engineers, Scientists, and technical experts. The role of the department is to investigate the next generation of our products. This could be looking at the whole system, and how it works, or individual component parts.

Looking into different aspects of material choice, Heating and Ventilation methods, robotics, automation, controls, mechanical design and ‘big data’ are all areas which are considered for research projects. We will work together to define a project which fits your interests and experience then work to an output which you can present to the company at the end of your placement.

**WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?**

Written report (ongoing throughout the 10-week period) and a final presentation.

It is also about learning in a different environment, starting to understand the business world, and having a glimpse of what it could be like to work in a similar environment. For this reason, we want our Interns to spend time at one of our facilities, collaborating and getting involved. This experience is as important as the project output. There is also a strong social element to the programme. We encourage each cohort of Interns to work together and also to go out and be sociable There will be a couple of company hosted events that will bring everybody together. We want all our Interns to feel part of something.
