The post holder will collaboratively lead and manage the acute pain nursing team. To promote patient centred high quality evidence based care to patients on the ward, ensuring the patient is central to all aspects of treatment and care. Management and allocation of daily case load of inpatients following surgery and patient with complex acute pain management problems. To communicate effectively with all the multi
- disciplinary teams both internal and external to the organisation.

Development and delivery of education and training programmes for staff involved in the management ofacute pain within the Trust To continually develop and where appropriate improve the service offered to patients, relatives and staff within the service area and contribute to care improvement initiatives across the care group. Independent non -medical prescriber, who will actively prescribe medication linked to acute pain requirements of surgical patients and guide ward based medical staff and nursing staff on the use of analgesia. Undertake audit and research projects linked with acute pain management. Develop and update relavant policies and procedures linked to the Acute pain service
