The location of the role is **Paddington, London (1 day per week in the office)**.

The duration of the contract is **5 months**.

The pay rate on offer is **£350 per day**.

The client is a large, multinational high-street retailer.

**Job Summary**

Working alongside a team of analysts, you will implement analytical solutions in demanding and fast paced commercial environments. With an intuitive grasp of data and analytics, you will be passionate about driving innovative analytical thinking and thebenefits of a data driven approach.

Conduct full analytical lifecycle delivery to include requirements, design and development resulting in the implementation of analytical solutions and capabilities that drive insight and benefit.

Work closely with Product Managers and Data Scientists to support the delivery of Data Products, performing discovery analysis, helping to define key metrics and designing experiments.

Through the use of advanced analytics and insight, you will be providing the organisation with the ability to interact with and understand performance indicators. Enabling areas to make informed, accurate and timely decisions from targeted information.

**Key accountabilities of the role**
- Provide analytical expertise to support the delivery of Data Products, working closely with Product Managers and Data Scientists.
- Work closely with stakeholders to fully understand requirements and provide collaborative solutions based on a commercial and analytical understanding.
- Support the Lead Analysts in delivering the teams objectives and strategy and help shape the future direction.
- Develop and prepare reporting solutions providing descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive insights.
- Communicating data analysis via presentations, reports, and dashboards.
- Work collaboratively with the other analysts in the team to create a thriving analytics environment where knowledge and ideas are shared.
- Investigative analysis to determine cause, consequence & scale of data issues, gaps, or anomalies.
- Manipulate data within relational databases to clean, transform & enhance data.
- Liaise with the wider Data Team to ensure we have the right data and solutions available to deliver our analytical priorities.
- Keep updated with new technologies and industry developments relating to analytics, data, and technology.
- Act as a data and analytical consultant to help identify opportunity, drive understanding or solutions across the business.
- Support and encourage experimentational approaches to technological and analytical challenges.
- Champion an agile way of working, promoting a 'test and learn' approach and culture.
- Champion a culture of analytical 'curiosity' through the development of innovative data driven solutions to business questions.

**Key skills and experience**

**Essential**:

- Exceptional problem solving, analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to translate technical data to be easily understood by non-technical minds.
- Ability to interact with the business to understand their needs and interpret how they could be fulfilled using the available data.
- Good knowledge of advanced and optimised SQL across big data tables and sets
- Enthusiasm and desire to learn new tools and techniques
- Experience working in a fast paced and effective Analytics or Insight functions
- Knowledge of analytical coding languages such as Python or R
- Knowledge of statistical analysis methods (Regression, Classification, etc.)

**Advantageous**:

- Exposure to Big Data and RDMS environments such as Hadoop Impala / Hive / Azure Synapse / Data Lakes.
- Advanced MS Office skills (e.g. MS Excel, Power Query/Pivot/Point).
- Advanced knowledge of Power BI or similar relational model type visualisation tools
- Experience visualising data and presenting analytics.
- Working knowledge of a Retail or FMCG organisation.
- Exposure to Power Apps would be beneficial.
- Previous experience in performing and maintaining data quality.
